After Queenstown we drove to a campsite just outside of town at Moke Lake. The campsite warden, "Bear," was awesome. Over 6 feet tall, burly with a beard to his waist, a straw hat and overalls, he looked quite the character. We had a lovely time chatting with him, and in the end he shared a beer with us and showed us around his home (a converted old schoolbus) and his egg laying chicken. Just one, though there were plenty of ducks to keep her company. Bear told us he feeds them the crusts of his sandwiches.
