Our campsite for the night was in Oamaru, which is famous for two things - sandstone buildings and a colony of blue penguins! They swim all day and come home to their nests around 10pm - you can see them as they come in from the sea. They spend about 20 minutes cleaning their feathers, then they dart across the road to their nests in the bushes. Cute little things!
