Construction of the Royal Palace began in 1782, and it has housed the kings of Siam ever since. Although the current king no longer lives here, it is still used for official functions. The Royal Palace grounds are now primarily a tourist attraction, though they also serve several official purposes as well.
There is a strict dress code - long pants and covered shoulders.
I think these men were celebrating finishing training - I was lucky to get a picture. They didn't seem to mind too much...
