From the Cambodian border we took a train to Bangkok. This option is maybe an hour longer than a bus, but much cheaper, at $1.50 per person. I also prefer trains because you can see a lot of the countryside, and they have the added benefit of a toilet on board, a nice plus when you travel for many hours.
The train itself was pretty nice, a bit old but mostly clean and not overcrowded.
The seats were actually petty comfortable! No air conditioning, but the open windows were quite nice.
Here we are pulling into the Bangkok train station.
After arriving we came across a bug vendor, of course I had to give it a try!
Yummy!
Delicious!
The sales lady was kind enough to make me a mixed bag...
Of which I ate 2 bugs. :)
We bought a pack of tissues; I chose these based solely on the packaging.
Here we are walking on Khao San Road, the famous backpacker street with lots of food vendors and souvenir shops.
We also saw Siam Niramit, a lovely (though for tourists) performance of Thai culture and history. It had lots of acrobatics, costumes, and wonderful set design. We loved it!
