Bridle Path hike
While in Christchurch we couchsurfed with a wonderful couple, Jeremy and Alice. Jeremy took us on a lovely hike called the Bridle Path from Christchurch to Lyttleton, an aptly named small shipping town across the hills from Christchurch. There is now a tunnel connecting the two, but when the first settlers arrived, they had to walk, carrying everything with them, over the hills. Took us about 45 minutes without any luggage.
