After 7 nights we left the quiet, remote, resort-y northern part of Nosy Be and took an hour long taxi bus ride to Hell-ville, the largest town on Nosy Be. About 40,000 people live on Nosy Be; more than half live in Hell-ville. We found a cute hotel with nice views of the bay called La Plantation Hotel.

After having problems with the food here a few times, we decided to limit eating out as much as possible. So we bought a hot plate and a pot and started cooking our own meals! So far, so good! Here's the first meal we made, rice noodles, veggies, and curry:
