We only had a couple days in Moramanga, but we decided we liked this small town. We checked out the Gendarmerie Museum, where we saw some fascinating exhibits of Malagash witchcraft (pictures 2-4) and handmade zebu stealer guns (which take a long time to reload, but when the farmers don't have any weapons, one shot can go a long way). The museum also had other crime paraphernalia such as drug pipes and counterfeit bills. One whole room was dedicated to the history of police in Madagascar, though everything was in French, so we didn't learn much.
Tosoa's cousin, Dimby, gave us a ride to Antananarivo the next day. On the way there we stopped at a panoramic view point where a taxi bus had broken down and Caryl and Dimby helped push. The passengers were very surprised that Caryl was helping; they encouraged me to take pictures (which I obliged). It was a lovely and interesting drive.
