The last day on the boat was a short one - we pulled into the town of Belo Tsiribihina around noon. After saying our goodbyes to the boat crew and our stowaways, we got on a very, very dusty taxi bus that took us to Morondava. We stopped for lunch on the way there, met some more cute kids, and paused to fix yet another flat tire. Women on the bus were laughing that their skin color was the same as Caryl's because of the dust and sand. I was lucky to get a seat in the front row, right next to the engine, which apparently is inside the cabin. It was very hot, but not quite as dusty. We arrived in Morondava tired, dirty, and hungry. While I waited in a restaurant with all our bags Caryl found us a lovely, very spacious, hotel. We spent the next day or two relaxing, doing laundry, and exploring the town.
