From Fes we took a day trip to Meknes. We again took the train. Meknes is one of the empirical cities, though not as popular as Fes or Marrakesh. However, it is the city with the largest gate, called the Bab Mansour:

Across from the gate is the main tourist square with many restaurants and gift shops:

We walked around the old part of the city and of course saw lots of interesting tile work:
Some parts of the city are not in great shape:
But the cats don't mind:
